Once-a-day Nutritional Multi Vitamin/Mineral dietary supplement.
RENALAB was established in 1974 shortly after HR-1 was established. RENALAB became an early leader in home patient supplies and later in the manufacture of dialysate concentrate. By the end of the decade, the need for a vitamin designed specifically for the renal patient was realize and RENALAB took the lead in the investigating and formulating the first nutritional supplement for renal patients.
The vitamin formulary was predicated upon the writings of Joe Koppel M.D., and the most current vitamin research available. With regard to minerals and trace elements test studies utilizing the assets of Renal-Chem (now Spectra Laboratories) were formulated. The study consisted of patients at 11 dialysis facilities throughout the United States. Gastrointestinal studies were also conducted simultaneously with the final outcome being Renaltab I, which was released in 1982 Today RENALAB has multiple vitamin formulas and Calcium Acetate.
